As a kid the only sport I knew and understood was softball. I played it for six years and got quite good at it. Tennis was another sport I learned to love and understand throughout the years. A few years back, my brother in law and sister explained football. For the longest time I understood it to this extent: they chase the ball up and down the field while knocking each other down.
Cue to present day: I understand all the rules, explain the game to people, took my dad to his first game this season (Tom Brady’s first home game back) and spend my Sundays watching games. The question I get often and got from my friends in college: “How can you root for the Patriots? You are from NY!” I was introduced to football by watching the Patriots. I would not have it any other way. Being a Patriots fan involves a whirlwind of emotions. You get excited, disappointed, surprised and then comes a stressful comeback. It’s like an epic movie and I love it.
It’s hard to believe the regular season is over and playoffs are starting next week. Football, I don’t know what I will do without you on Sunday (aside from having a lot more time). I’ll just have to learn the Bruin’s schedule now. In the meantime, my thoughts on the post season: LET’S GO PATS!
