This past year was a whirlwind of many things: health, diet shifts, and life as it happens. As my birthday comes to a close (yes there are a few hours left and I didn’t actually arrive into the world until 11:25 PM) I have spent today reflecting on the past year and all the amazing things today brought. For the first time in years I was able to celebrate my birthday in person with my cousins. Since moving to Boston our time together has been limited so spending today with them was extra special.
We also arrived in New York City this evening for three whirlwind days of broadway shows and tourist fun. Nestled in Columbus Circle makes the city less overwhelming because while I see the huge expanse of the city I know I can navigate a smaller amount of blocks and still feel like I’m getting the city experience. There is a reason I left NYC for Boston…
This year has been a fun one. 23 to 24 does not feel like such a big leap but I know last year brought many great things and I’m hoping this coming year will push me in my profession, bring many more family celebrations and more opportunities to stretch myself. It’s a big bonus that I am finally feeling better. The doctors appointments are just check ins now and I am able to eat more. I don’t need to watch my diet so carefully so I don’t need to stress when I’m asked out for meals.
It feels good to be a year older and I am excited to see how I can push myself in new ways this year. Until then, peace out from the city that never sleeps.
