Life As I See It

Winter Break: A TIme to Refresh

January 1, 2016

Nine days into winter break and I am feeling better about how I chose to spend my break. I’ve done no work but have been so productive in other ways. I spent two days doing a closet overhaul. I took out all the clothes I have not worn or do not need and am going to donate them. I needed a more sophisticated wardrobe and now it is one step closer to sophisticated young adult. Gone are the overly colorful skirts that looked just a little ridiculous on me. Gone are the flouncy party dresses that make me look like a 15 year old.

I have not been blogging nearly as much as I would like to be. This is the first time I am sitting down to write a post since vacation started. This might just be the pattern for the blog at the moment, scattered thoughts coming out as they come to me. I am not thrilled by that idea but for now it is what it is.

I also started working out again this vacation. I went to SoulCycle for the first time and already went three or four times since then. It is safe to say I LOVED it. My new goal is to go a few mornings before work. It makes me sore but it also feels really good to get a workout in and push myself like that. I know it will only get easier as I continue it. I need to figure out how I will get to the gym twice a week now to do a good weight workout now that the cardio is figured out. Baby steps.

I have not quite figured out how to refresh my diet. I really should just start another Whole30 and do a total reset but I don’t want to. I should be able to exercise enough control over what I eat so I don’t need to do that. Besides, based on my last doctor’s appointment doing a diet that will help and cause me to shed more weight is not the best plan at the moment, especially if I won’t be balancing it with working out.
