In the past few months, the main source for my photos is through Instagram on my phone. I have a beautiful DSLR camera I love but rarely have a chance to use it. I don’t have time to go and photograph or the motivation. Photo challenges don’t really work because if its like a class the work tends to fall to the side with all my other work. The teacher I work with has been doing 52Frames, a weekly photo challenge and the pictures she posts are beautiful.
As a way to embrace the new year I signed up for it with the goal of getting to my camera more. I am already so excited and my photo skills are slowly coming back. There is a rule that the pictures don’t need to be perfect and it is a good feeling to get the feedback and improve on skills week to week. So far I am on week 4 and I am a bit stuck for inspiration but I am going to spend some time downtown tomorrow and shoot some shots. This week’s lesson is leading lines. Not so many great leading lines or inspiration I can get here. I might try to get the T tracks (without getting hit by the T). So far I’ve gotten some great shots. I am looking forward to the next few weeks and exploring photography more!
